Jason Safford

Jason Safford wants to create an awesome future for everyone. Writer, Author, Producer, Director, and Life Enthusiast - He is the CEO of Safflyn Green Industries, Inc. a company focused on sustainable solutions that improve quality of life for residential and commercial applications. He is the co-owner / developer of Gelston Castle Estate, a sustainable green development project in Herkimer County, NY that has hosted green concerts and festivals since 2008. He is a Board Director for the South East Queens Chamber of Commerce and the Chair of the Green Business Council for the Hicksville Chamber of Commerce. Jason also serves as the Vice President of Sales for Astra Data Solutions. Jason has taught at New York University Schack Institute of Real Estate, teaching Environmental Principles and Sustainable Development.

TECHNOLOGY LEADER
Throughout the course of his career, Jason has been an innovator of technology and technology applications. 

- At Interactive Imaginations, he successfully managed the expansion of the company IT infrastructure from 10 employees to 127
- At New York University, as the IT manager for the Office of Career Services, he was singularly responsible for delivering an online system that allowed students and alumni to easily access jobs and services from the department.
- At MTV Networks, as the Technical Lead for New Technology, he developed the XML specification for the successful content management project that allowed MTV online to increase traffic by 10,000 percent.
- At Snaz.com, as the Webmaster, he lead the IT department in developing the first online e-wallet technology and first online shopping mall
- At Spiral Connection, as founder and CEO, Jason pioneered the internet landscape for Facebook, YouTube, and MySpace, delivering the IT Architecture and application methodology for the first online management of individual portfolios with audio and video files with individual web pages.
- At Infrabasic, as Executive Director of Strategic Development, he evaluated more than 5,000 technology business plans from Korean companies and matched them with US companies searching for their services.

EDUCATIONAL LEADER
Jason Safford has trained and educated hundreds of professionals for Learning Tree International, New York University, Hofstra University, York College, NASA and several private corporations. His coursework and lectures include Software Development, Technology Management, Application Design, Network Security, Data Migration, Project Management, Team Building and Communication, Leadership and Accountability, and Environmental Planning.As a lecturer and teacher, Jason has focused on delivering coursework that results in better jobs skills and professional success for his students. He has actively pursued helping to link corporate recruiters with present and past students with skill sets that match.

ENVIRONMENTAL LEADER
As environmentalist, Mr. Safford served as a member of several organizations including the International Solar Energy Society, the American Wind Energy Association, the Sustainable Building Industry Council, the US Green Building Council and the American Planning Association. His involvement with each of these organizations has focused on examining the use and application of materials and technology in a cost-effective approach towards environmental development.

Jason Safford began his personal development in 1990 as a Marshall for Earth Day in Central Park, NY. In 1992, he climbed Mt. Rainier as part of a low impact camping tour with Wilderness Ventures. He is a member of 12 organizations, councils and associations involved with the planning, development and implementation of Green technology, materials and strategies.His dedication to the Green movement includes writing countless articles, letters, speeches. He has appeared in The Financial Times, Utica Observer Dispatch, the Times Union, WKTV, WRKS and several other media outlets. His articles have been published in Utica Observer Dispatch, Richfield Springs Mercury, The Evening Telegram, The Syracuse New Times, The Gleaner, The Star, Queens Press and several periodicals. Most recently, he has authored a GREEN educational series and THINK GREEN - The Future is Awesome.

PHILANTHROPIST
Since 1990, Jason has dedicated tens of thousands of volunteer hours to helping those less fortunate.His many contributions include the Gift of LIfe Foundation, American Heart Association, American Lung Association, American Cancer Association, American Diabetes Association, Nature Conservancy, Prostate Cancer Outreach and the Make a Wish Foundation.
